Stratigraphic Analysis
IRT's geological staff is experienced in the latest techniques and software for facies identification and stratigraphic interpretation. Stratigraphic interpretation can be critical to understanding the distribution of hydrocarbons and productivity within a reservoir. Regional geology, logs, seismic interpretation, and sequence stratigraphy, as well as core data and description are used to reconstruct facies distribution to develop a depositional model.
A 3D static model of the depositional architecture of the Almond Formation, Southwest Wyoming, illustrates several regressive and transgressive system tracks moving back and forth in a typical cretaceous seaway. This complex reservoir distribution pattern observed in the Almond formation underpins the importance of building a representative static reservoir description to capture this variability.
